n times I can’t get things in or out without removing my backpack completely, which mid-commute, is a big deal.

The bag itself just hangs off of you once you put things in it and is SO hot. Often the shoulder straps make me sweat alone and they kind of hurt once you’re into tank top weather.

I don’t know, I got this bag on sale nonetheless but I wouldn’t purchase this specific bag again. I think a future version would be better with: a laptop spot with or without the insert, more pockets for little stuff. Read LessRead less about I think they really missed the mark on

an carry a ton and it's very subtle. it wins on every aspect here.

however, there are two major shortcomings with the deluxe model. it is not designed well to carry weight. one, the straps are kinda terrible. they're thin, set too broadly apart so they pull on you and there's no center-strap (or option for one). they weren't designed well for the big version and having a 20 lb bag, which is easy when loaded. it's fine when placed on a suitcase or for a quick in/out but it's not good for any sustained weight carrying. my primary grab strap (right) has already had the padding shift down and is just fabric now. i'm not big (m, 5'10, 180, size 40). it's an increase in proportionality when it likely needed more real world testing for increased weight/size. i added a timbuktu chest-strap and that helps but it needs a redesign. others have said similar.

two, the main zipper is flimsy. i've split mine more than once. they need to be more durable for a larger pack. they're thin plastic ones and they should be better quality. because of the design, they can be replaced.

i'm not sure i'd buy this again because it's just not comfortable when fully loaded, which stinks because it is pretty much the only bag like this that has a pass through slot that doesn't look like some ridiculous swiss army thing. it's the perfect size when paired with a smaller roller for never having to check bags. kes the pack more neutral and timeless, without being too boring, and probably more appropriate for a work setting. Cons: It's pretty blocky and wide. Someone likened it to a jet pack, which is true! However it seems to be softening and reshaping a bit with regular use. I'm almost 5' 8" so don't feel too overwhelmed by it, but someone more petite might. I love the padding for the laptop, but the biggest con, in my opinion, is how much room the rest of the insert takes up. I'd have preferred a built-in padded laptop sleeve and more open space in the main compartment, allowing me to more easily fit my small purse, organizer, lunch, etc. The way the interior is configured, once I put anything into the interior padded pockets, the pocket walls push together, blocking access to the open middle space. If I use only the main compartment and not the pockets, that's just wasted space (It's hard to describe.) But, I'm still experimenting. I may end up just removing the insert permanently and keeping my laptop in its own padded sleeve that then goes into the backpack. notebooks. The front pocket fits my wallet, sunglasses, pens, Airpods, etc. with room to spare. I actually use the key hook for hair ties. The side pockets fit my water bottle and umbrella without making the bag look too wide. On top of fitting absolutely 100% of my daily essentials, when I wear the bag it feels incredibly light and comfortable. I have no idea where the weight goes, because I've put less stuff in my leather backpack and that feels way heavier. I haven't flown with the bag yet but I'm really excited to use the suitcase attachment feature. I wish I bought this bag as soon as I first heard of it.
